When you think of LGBTQ weddings, what do you picture? Labels aside, a wedding should always be about you and your partner, as it was for the two grooms, Rob and Jeremy on their special day. Our job as a florist was to support their vision and help them get to the alter without a care that we were taking care of them as we would any client.
It was such a pleasure working with Rob and Jeremy on their wedding day. These two grooms chose a beautiful location for their marriage ceremony at Opus 40 in Saugerties, NY, followed by their reception at The Lazy Swan. They added a special element of their personality by showing off their unique socks.
Opus 40 is a sculpture park that was created by Harvey Fite, an almost-lawyer, actor, and sculptor. This natural creation made a beautiful backdrop for Rob and Jeremy along with their close friends and family to witness their union. The two floral arrangements we provided framed the ceremony as they made their commitment to each other. In addition to the floral arrangements, we provided the elegant boutonnieres for the gentlemen, corsages for the moms, and bouquets for the bridal party.
After their rustic, outdoor ceremony, guests headed over to the reception at The Lazy Swan where we had set up the signage welcoming guests to this elegant location. Rob and Jeremy’s first dance was so full of love and everyone could see that they were basking in the moment of finally arriving at their wedding day. The photographer captured the moment perfectly as friends and family watched on from the sidelines. The cake cutting showcased a classic design that was enhanced by our florals.
Did you picture it? Elegant, classic, beautiful. If you were picturing a beautiful ceremony with a stunning backdrop in the sculpture part followed by a traditional reception in a stunning ballroom, you hit the nail on the head. No matter what kind of wedding you’ve got in mind, we can help you bring that vision to life. Talk to us about what you are looking for, and we can help your vision come to life. We want to thank these two grooms for trusting us with such an important day in their lives and proving once again that love is love. Happy PRIDE!
